I really enjoyed the start of the HRT series with its ongoing action on the trail of domestic terrorists and some really hot romance.Marked – the story of Jake and Rachel was so good as two friends who were always attracted to each other but timing never worked out but as Rachel finds herself targeted by a terrorist all because of her job, there is only one man she trusts to investigate and find out if she’s paranoid or not. There was a lot of action and some good suspense in this novel and I liked how there really was no great tension between Rachel and Jake, just two people who decide they want to be together and never waiver from this.
Targeted – after being introduced to Celida and Tuck in book 1 they are now the stars of book 2. Once again there is a background story of domestic terrorism being investigated and once again we have two characters who have been friends for years fighting an attraction for each other until the realities of their job and the dangers they live with rear their head so they don’t want to waste any more time.
Hunted – I really liked the evolution of Clay and Zoe’s relationship. Unlike the first two books where there had been this foundation of friendship Zoe and Clay meet as Zoe is Tuck’s cousin however Clay is very closed off because of his ex-wife and so despite an attraction nothing happens between them until Clay and the team head to Zoe’s town of New Orleans for a conference, and wow when Clay’s walls come down these two are hot together! Unlike other novels there isn’t the underlying terrorist threat and instead the action and danger comes from Zoe’s part-time job at a woman’s shelter but still the action and suspense is the same as the others so another great book for the series.

What a great set of books. I love every man - Evers, Tuck, and Baud. Bauer is my favorite. So well-trained but so willingly out of control when needed. Rachel, Celida, and Zoe were bandaids women. Persistent. Loyal. Loving. These books were so good. I bought all Titanium sets so I won't need to "slow my roll".
Just finished the first three books in this new and exciting Hostage Rescue Series. Author did a fantastic job of developing all the characters and establishing each and every relationship. Storyline was exciting and full of ongoing action. Nothing but suspense and intrigue through and through. Great start for exciting reading enjoyment.
I thoroughly enjoyed this whole set . So believable. I am fascinated with the abilities that these guys show and the women that stand with them.
I can't wait to read the next set which I have already bought.
Wholeheartedly recommend these books and this author to everyone and especially to those of us who enjoy military men and women and also those in law enforcement.
I really really enjoyed these books. The HRT men and the women they ultimately loose their hearts to are Amazing. What I especially LOVED was the story, the sexiness and the modern day topics thrown into this amazing read.
Kaylea Cross knows how to write brillant books that offer military romance and drama perfectly.
These books offer drama, romance, sexy times, military men and strong female leads an Amazing storyline and good secondary characters. Dang near perfect books!

Three stories about special guys meeting the one goal not only bringing them to their knees but lifting them back up. A taste of both perspectives and a well written read. Heart pounding, non stop action and exciting books for all.
This box set consists of three stories Marked, Targeted, & Hunted. The stories concern the Hostage Rescue Teams and different scenarios they encounter. I enjoyed all three stories and look forward to reading the next three stories in Volume 2 as I get invested with the characters & their lives. I would give each of these a 4 or 4 1/2 rating.
Marked is about architect Rachel Granger and a terrorist that wants something from her. Her best friend in college,Jake Evers, is now with the FBI and she calls on him for help.
Targeted is about Special Agent Celida Morales and Brad Tucker (Tuck). After a domestic terrorism incident that almost took her life she realizes that she & Tuck have something worth fighting for and when the next op goes bad Tuck realizes he needs Celida as well.
Hunted is about FBI Special Agent Clay Bauer and Tuck's cousin Zoe Renard. Clay has gone through a bad divorce and is not interested in a relationship. Zoe is an author who volunteers at a safe house for women & children and has gotten involved in a very dangerous situation that puts her in grave danger. Clay realizes he may loose her and that he cares more than he thought he would.
The characters in the series are all very well developed. Sometimes in a series, you can run into the same old things with characters, but Cross does a fantastic job of creating different, unique, layered characters in each of her books. The plots are original to each book as well, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The intimate scenes fit each of the characters perfectly and are well placed in the stories. Each one brings out the heat whether it is slow and sweet or hot and heavy. They are tailored so well to each story and plot that you never know what is going to happen or when. Each book is set up nicely to introduce the next one. I love it when we get a glimpse of what is to come from the characters.
Cross is a fabulous storyteller, too. She knows just how much detail to give you during each operation the team is tasked to keep you in the thick of the action but not so much that you get a little lost and drift away from the scene. It is a great balance. If you are fan of romantic suspense, I very highly recommend you give this series a try. You will be glad you did.
